Late-Victorian English Imari Ironstone Tea Set – Teapot, Sugar & Creamer, c.1891–1910

A striking three-piece ironstone tea set in the Imari palette, featuring a hexagonal teapot with matching sugar bowl and creamer. Deep cobalt, rich iron-red florals, and gilt accents show the bold style of Staffordshire makers of the period, especially Mason’s and Ashworth Bros. The teapot’s pedestal base and angular form are classic Mason’s shapes.

The base is impressed “ENGLAND”, dating it after 1891. While no factory name appears, the heavy body, thick glaze, and hand-painted decoration align closely with Mason’s Ironstone from the Ashworth era. A faint red decorator’s mark is also visible, typical of Staffordshire pattern tracking.

Well over a century old, the set retains vivid color and decorative appeal. Light wear to the gilding adds character, and the trio displays beautifully. A fine addition for collectors of English ceramics or anyone drawn to the richness of traditional Imari style.
